**Johnsons Wellfield** have an opportunity for a **Multi Skilled Quarry Operative** to join our busy and friendly team in Huddersfield on a full time, permanent basis.

**Johnsons Wellfield** operates an established Dimension Stone and highly sophisticated stone production facility from its Crosland Hill Quarries in Huddersfield which is part of the progressive family-owned **Myers Group.**

Renowned for the supply of premium block stone for finished masonry and natural stone paving products supplied across the UK. With an excellent local presence in the aggregates sector and an inert landfill, we are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team at Crosland Hill Quarries.

**The successful Multi Skilled Quarry Operative** **will receive a competitive hourly rate of pay plus fantastic benefits including;**

**Main duties and key responsibilities will include**:

- Undertake operational requirements as specified, undertaking relief support activities for quarry operations related functions.
- Setting up and operating a variety of mobile plant (training provided to support business requirements) throughout the quarry.
- Operate plant and equipment efficiently, economically, and conscientiously.
- Ensure that all near misses, non-injury incidents, minor injuries and LTIs are reported to your line manager.
- Handling and correctly storing Company’s product (whether extracted or processed).
- Demonstrate good housekeeping practices and look after plant and machinery.
- Communicate efficiently with all members of the team.

**Preferred skills, experience and attributes**:

- Able to operate a variety of mobile plant, suitable training provided.
- Excellent approach to Health & Safety.
- Able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.
- Must be flexible, have a positive attitude.
- Work as part of a team.
- Have a suitable fitness level to conduct work appropriately.
- Sound knowledge of applicable quarry products and materials.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems at source.
