**About You**:
We are looking for a hardworking, graduate with 1+ years' experience within a finance function, who is keen to take on a new and exciting opportunity. Within this role, you will be supporting the Financial Accountants and the Financial Controller. You willplay an active part in helping to deliver the financial accounting and reporting, risk mitigation and internal control within the Life Controllership team. The role sits within a fast-moving team and will offer exposure to the senior leadership team as wellas learning opportunities and the ability to recommend and make process changes. The abilities to work collaboratively and proactively with energy are key.
**Within this role you will**:
- Prepare, assist, and support in the preparation and analysis of data for use in internal, external, statutory and regulatory reports and returns with a primary focus on mortgage accounting
- Perform a range of periodic financial processes within the accounting and related IT systems
- Prepare reconciliations and check routine processes
- Assist and support the deliverables for external audit, annual report and accounts and periodic analytical reviews
- Actively collaborate within and outside the team
In addition this role will support the team to:
- Assist with the operation of effective controls to mitigate risks
- Identify and propose ideas to improve and automate existing and future processes and periodic routines, in line with the Financial function's stated strategy to "Be the Change"
- Support robust systems developments by identifying issues and improvement opportunities including working on user acceptance testing and Oracle general ledger developments
**What you will need to have**:
- A degree
- 1+ years' experience within an analytical role in a finance function
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively as part of a team
- Very good verbal and written communication skills
