As a key member of Ibstock Group Supply Chain Team, your focus will be on developing and embedding sustainable supply chain and procurement practices in line with our wider ESG strategy Guiding the team and our supply partners to ensure our sourcing decisions and ongoing contract management considers our economic, social and environmental impacts. You will review this across the end to end supply chain, from raw material sourcing through to final delivery to our customers.

You will champion developing and delivering our supply chain strategy, policies and processes which lead us positively towards achieving our 2030 ESG commitments which centre around three areas: addressing climate change, improving lives and manufacturing materials for life.

You will be joining a business who is fully committed to achieving our ambition to be the most sustainable manufacturer of clay and concrete products and solutions in the UK. As a member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we have access to some fantastic learning and case study materials, and in close collaboration with our dedicated Sustainability Team, you will help to build this into our “business as usual” supply chain practices.

**In this role, we are looking for someone who**:

- Focuses on guiding and coaching our group supply chain team and key suppliers for both products and services ensuring we understand and consider our Economic, Social and Environmental impact.
- Developing our procurement processes and policies from initial sourcing through to supplier performance that supports us in achieving our ESG objectives
- Responsible for establishing scope 3 carbon reporting with our key suppliers, through utilisation of Supply Chain Sustainability School carbon reporting portal and engaging with suppliers to develop and achieve reduction targets.
- Review further ESG reporting requirements within our supplier base, ensuring ethical and transparent behaviours are demonstrated, aligned to Ibstock ESG policies
- Continue to build on our risk management processes across our all our key supply requirements, working with category buyers / category manager to understand how we manage these risks.
- Identify opportunities through alternative sourcing, alternative materials, supplier locations, delivery methods, management of waste.
- Support business case proposals for alternative delivery methods, both inbound from our external suppliers and quarries and also outbound to our customers.
- Lead procurement tenders that support our Sustainable sourcing strategy
- Lead supply chain sustainability risk assessment, supply chain mapping and supplier resilience.
- Monitor and share UK and international best practices relevant to Ibstock Group and initiate reduction programs.
- Work with suppliers and wider Ibstock teams to support NPD
- Develop tactical and strategic plans to deliver our business priorities
- Promote communication on achievements, celebrate the successes and be clear on our opportunities
- Engage with key stakeholders internally and externally to our business

**We would like you to ideally be/have**:

- Collaborative and creative, you will see this role as an opportunity to build on your current supply chain / procurement acumen but with a clear passion for developing and delivering sustainable supply chain practices.
- Good knowledge of end to end supply chain processes - doesn’t need to be industry specific.
- Great coaching skills, able to bring people along on the journey, support and educate.
- There will be multiple plates spinning so you will need the ability to drive concurrent projects.
- Self organised, able to plan, including produce a plan which structures tasks for others, and chase down actions / progress.
- Strong influencing skills, use your passion and energy to secure the right decision, backed up with data and evidence.
- Tenacity which will also encourage action in others.
- Analytical, able to work with large data sets, competent in Excel and can clearly identify opportunities and make recommendations.
- Embrace change but also able to work at a pace which allows other to develop their understanding.
- Enjoys working within a small team, able to build strong relationships, approachable and keen to provide support and guidance
- Competent negotiation skills
