**About us**

Radford Medical Practice is a well-established, 2 sited, inner city Practice. We currently have around 23000 patients. We have a large student population based at the Nottingham Trent University and a smaller diverse population at our Radford site.

We currently have 4 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, 4 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant and a GP Assistant. We also have a large, experienced Care Navigator/ administrative team.

We re looking to recruit an experienced Health Care Assistant to support our busy clinical team. This role will suit someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and a good team player.

T**he position is for 20 hours per week over 4 days.**

**The salary is based on the full time equivalent.**

**Responsibilities**:

- To assist the GPs and the nursing team in the delivery of a safe and high quality primary care service.
- To work under indirect supervision of the Senior Practice Nurses and to undertake tasks and duties delegated by the Nurses and GPs.
- Blood pressure checks
- QOF patient annual checks
- Removal of sutures
- New patient health checks
- ECG recording
- Venepuncture
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Basic wound care
- Flu and pneumonia vaccinations
- as per PSD
- STI screening
- Weight monitoring
- CVD checks
- Ordering of clinical stock
- Restocking of clinical rooms
- Chaperoning and assisting patients were appropriate, who are being examined by another clinician
- Attend practice and group meetings
- Complete statutory training/updates and mandatory training
- To communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- To adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

**Essential criteria**:

- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Completion of Care Certificate
- Competent in phelbotomy
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £23,463.00 per year
