**Rethink Mental Illness are excited to be setting up a new IAPT service in HMP Hull and HMP Humber in partnership with Tees, ESK Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust and Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.**

This service will see the implementation of a stepped care model into HMP Hull/ HMP Humber, allowing residents to access evidence based, effective care comparative to what is on offer in the community.

**How you will make a difference**

As a **Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, you will**:

- Fulfil a fulltime training programme over a 12 month period, based within the Prison mental health team and attending study at University of Sheffield as required
- Provide assessment, treatment and support to patients at Step 2 of the IAPT model, in line with national IAPT frameworks
- Uphold best practice for working with those residing in a custodial environment as outlined in the relevant positive practice guides
- Work as part of a multi disciplinary team providing high quality mental health care in a prison setting

You will work Monday to Friday during core business hours, and this varies with days required in University when training. Some flexibility is required depending on service need. All clinical work is carried out face to face within the prison environment and therefore remote working cannot be considered.

**What we are looking for**
- Undergraduate degree or evidence of ability to study successfully at level 6 (third year of undergraduate degree)
- Mental health working experience, including voluntary work or expertise gained by experience of mental health problems
- Commitment and ability to attend university one day per week in conjunction with a minimum of two further days in low-intensity clinical practice per week for the period of the training course whilst undertaking further study outside of working hours
- Evidence of interpersonal skills in order to engage and develop working alliances with colleagues and patients
- Evidence of an openness to learning new knowledge and skills
