Weymouth, United Kingdom Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join the leadership team in the Adult Community Mental Health Team in Weymouth & Portland. The post offers a unique opportunity for aspiring and developing staff or Leaders looking for a new challenge. It also offers the opportunity to play a significant role in the evolution of Mental Health Services with the current MHICC work being undertaken.

This role is for Team Leader who would work alongside the Clinical Team Leader and cover for them in their absence, and you would work alongside another part time Team Leader in managing the complex case work within the team, looking at transfers from CAMHS, and discharges from inpatient units, and supporting the team with their caseload.

The post holder will benefit from high levels of support from their Integrated Service Manager, as well as support from an effective and experienced peer network, at both a local and county wide level. You will also work closely to lead the team alongside highly experienced and supportive Consultant Psychiatrists and ANP's.

We are looking for an exceptional person to take on this role and enable the team to develop their skills, systems and the care they offer to the people and carers who the service support.

You will need to demonstrate your commitment to providing a visible, consistent, supportive management approach, acting as an enthusiastic, motivated, and positive role model, working with an experienced and established multi-disciplinary team.

You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of agencies, such as the Local Authority, Primary Care colleagues and third sector (VCSE) providers to provide a seamless service to the people and carers throughout their period of care.

As the role is both clinical and covering some managerial work you must be able to make sound clinical judgements whilst working under pressure and have the ability to manage change and demonstrating effective time management skills.

You must also have a passion and experience of working with adults experiencing serious mental health issues.

At Dorset HealthCare, we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives, through our outstanding, joined-up Healthcare services. We’re a dynamic, forward-looking Trust, running 12 Community Hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and Mental Health services for a population of almost 800,000 people.

We do things differently here - it’s one of the reasons the CQC rated us ‘Outstanding’ in 2019. It’s also why 95% of patients across our services say they have a good or very good experience of our services and 89% of staff feel they can really make a difference. Whether you’re looking to work with us in one of our bustling market towns, vibrant urban locations, thriving seaside spots, or among the rolling hills of Dorset, there are lots of ways you can make a difference in our communities.

Our 7,000-strong workforce is at the heart of what we do and our success is a testament to our brilliant people. We're all about building a workplace for the future; we believe in equal opportunities and we celebrate diversity.
