Poppies Beaconsfield Day Nursery & Pre-School are looking for a Nursery Room Leader to join their growing team. Within this role you will provide the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with management, colleagues and parents.

We are open from 7.30am - 18:00pm and we would require you to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times. Our nursery is based on a former farm across two spacious barn conversions in Hedgerley Lane in Beaconsfield, which is close to the M40 Junction. The nursery, which opened over 20 years ago, has an outstanding outdoor environment and an expert childcare team, who are extremely committed to providing the highest quality care and education.

**Nursery Assistant main responsibilities include**:

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
- Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
- Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
- Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
- Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

**Nursery Assistant requirements and skills**:

- Undertaking a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification - desirable
- Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
- Over 6 months experience of working in Early Years - essential
- Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
