The aims of the Youth Navigator programme are to improve wellbeing, engagement, and life chances for young people aged 12-16 who present to hospital with complex social issues. Those who engage with the programme will be supported through a hospital and community outreach youth work model. Based in the Emergency Department at the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital and working there and in communities across Aberdeenshire, you'll work alongside the clinical teams, our adult Navigator service and with a wide range of community partners. The project will be carried out in partnership with NHS Grampian and is funded by CORRA. The post holder will be employed by Medics against Violence.
- We are looking for two exceptional **qualified youth workers** with experience and an understanding of the youth work approach, a proven ability to work in partnership with vulnerable young people, and the capacity to form effective working relationships with a wide range of partners and agencies. You should have an **SVQ3 or 4 in Youth Work** or a degree in **Community Learning and Development or Community Education.**

This is a new location for our Youth Navigator service and we always work with our NHS partners to ensure that we are available when most needed. In general Youth Navigators work during the normal working day, there are no night shifts or overnight shifts. However, our 4 week rolling rota does require some weekend working (two Saturdays and one Sunday every 4 weeks) and evening working (occasional shifts till 8pm). Applicants should be flexible and available to work at the times required.

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,020.00 per year

There are no specific protocols in place for COVID-19. However you will be working in a hospital where there will be young people who are unwell. We expect staff to be responsible and test and isolate if they are COVID positive
