Material Buyer/planner

**Responsibilities**:
The Planner creates and maintains the Supply Plan using forecasts, capacity modelling and MRP. Playing a key role in securing cost efficient, on time and in-full deliveries from our overseas factory and external Suppliers. To ensure the Business can satisfy Customer demand, all aspects of the Supply Chain will be organised, planned & coordinated efficiently and accurately.

**Key Skills**
- Solid knowledge of purchasing/planning processes based on the previous job experience.
- Analyse and evaluate forecasts/reports to enhance supply chain delivery
- Daily check of MRP requirements and order statuses to ensure delivery dates are on target
- On-going dialogue with Shippers of incoming material/finished goods
- Regular communication with internal clients keeping them updated with status of pending orders.
- Self-vendor management including finding gaps/problems in daily cooperation and looking for solutions to improve the process.
- Liaison with Finance, Sales, Warehouse, Logistics & other Internal Teams.
- Computer and data entry skills (Pegasus Operations preferable and Microsoft Office).
- A proactive approach to problem solving
- Solid communication skills, with ability to handle multiple requests.
- Ability to work in a multinational environment.

**Teamwork**:
This position interacts with all levels of Internal and Sister Site personnel and requires strong oral and written communication skills. Effectiveness in this role also requires functional knowledge of Import Shipping to present and exchange information with all levels of Management.

Actively work with Customer Service, Quality Control and other departments to disseminate accurate and concise information in a timely manner. Identify problems and present solutions to minimize or eliminate delays in the supply process.

**Location/Reporting**: Customer Service/Material Planning Manager on site

**Education**: Degree preferred but not essential

**Experience**:Minimum 2 years’ experience in planning/purchasing within a busy manufacturing environment, APICS Certification preferred although not essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
