We are recruiting a Product Technologist for a leading UK Confectionery Distributor, based in Loughborough with occasional travel to other company sites such as Sutton-In-Ashfield. This is a brand new opening to work with an inspiring and dedicated team, reporting in to the Technical & Compliance Manager.

Working for this people centric organisation, the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Group’s commitment to supply safe, high-quality, authentic products that meet or exceed customer expectations, legal requirements, and industry best practice.

**Duties include but not limited to**:

- Working with the Technical and Compliance Manager to ensure the business and suppliers achieve the agreed legal, compliance, safety and quality standards for company products.
- Manage and complete allocated tasks required to enable a successful NPD launch.
- Request and log product specifications and relevant documents from suppliers.
- Complete customer specific technical documents and information requests.
- Orchestrate product sample to be submitted to the external laboratory for appropriate testing.
- Provide and document specific Master data information.
- Be responsible for the accurate documentation and effective record keeping of all Technical Information, including maintenance of the product database.
- Work effectively cross-functionally and providing technical support as necessary.
- Complete the review of product specifications and technical documents for live products at pre-determined intervals.
- Undertake technical visits to suppliers to sign off 1st production and complete a quality assessment.
- Build and maintain external customer and supplier relationships with both technical and product development teams.

- Organised, methodical, with excellent administrative and strong communication skills
- Good relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of the principles of GMP and Global Food Safety Initiatives.

**Benefits include**:
Salary - £30,000

Hybrid Working - 3 days split across sites/2 days from home (37.5 hours, with a flexible approach)

Full Induction and training (role will be fully on site during the initial training)

25 days holiday, plus bank holidays

**Salary**: Up to £30,000.00 per year
