An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious finance professional looking to progress their career within a FTSE listed construction business with a track record of delivering high profile infrastructure projects.

This is a critical role within the newly established R2R function that involves collecting, processing, and presenting accurate financial data. R2R provides strategic, financial, and operational feedback on the performance of the organisation to inform management and other stakeholders.

The role will involve the setting up and development of the R2R Team & processes providing delivery of day-to-day finance activities.

**Role Responsibilities**

To your team(s) you will be a leader and a creative inspiration, encouraging innovation and creative thinking. To the stakeholders you will be an ambassador of change and an evangelist of R2R vision and how it will drive the business forward.

You will provide financial business partner support to a broad range of business unit owners & functional areas supporting them to understand their R2R performance, identifying risks and opportunities. It is essential that you are commercially aware, able to provide data-led insight and convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders

**The primary responsibilities of this role are**:

- Lead the R2R team to produce robust and timely financial results and support the business partners with reporting and analysis.
- Manage and lead the day-to-day operations of the R2R team, including technical review of the work performed by the team.
- Manage Month End Accounting Close, Accruals, Prepayments, Fixed Assets accounting and reporting.
- Ownership of the Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Analysis process.
- Manage payroll accounting, including recording journal entries and reconciliation.
- Set efficiency and reporting targets and KPI's and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive standard processes through principles of simplification, standardisation, and automation where appropriate.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial & statutory reporting.
- Ensure the establishment and maintenance of an effective business control framework in line with expectations of the central control team.
- Act as a point of escalation for Finance business leaders and ensure timely remediation of issues.

**About you**
- Qualified Accountant with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICAEW / ICAS / ACCA / CIMA) with 5+ years' experience.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in an SSC Team Leader or Manager role.
- Change management experience, working with people effectively.
- Experience of getting the best out of systems and technologies.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and communicating financial insights.
- Managing change and integration of finance systems and processes.
- Significant experience in operating and leading within a finance shared services environment.
- Working with Oracle Enterprise One, or similar ERP system desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and an ethical approach to data including respecting the confidential nature of information and the associated decision making.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence to present to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically, challenge current processes and introduce improvements.
- Demonstrable ability to form effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and a self-starter, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Displays strong commercial awareness, vigilant attention to the changing business environment and emerging opportunities and risks.
- Hands on approach to Operational Finance.
- Set and achieve high standards for themselves and for others, takes personal accountability for results, and monitors performance against pre-set objectives and performance standards.
- Identifies, anticipates, and navigates problems and obstacles to performance in an orderly and calm manner. Responds creatively to personal and team challenges.
