**Details**:
We are looking for a Community Officer to monitor and control the Council’s car parks, assist in the monitoring of contract cleansing services, and report the presence of abandoned vehicles and litter in the Council’s car parks and across the District of Wealden more generally.

You will carry out regular inspections of Council owned car parks, representing the Council in a manner that is consistent with the highest standards of customer service, pride and community service. Duties will include the issue of Excess Charge Notices, to identify sources of Car Parking infringments and report these, to assist in the daily management of car parks by reporting orders for repairs and signage and maintain the Council’s Pay and Display Machines.

In order to be successful in this role it is essential that you have experience of working in an office as well as working on your own initiative in a lone worker capacity, strong attention to detail and the ability to deal with the public in a sensitive and authoritative manner. You should have grade GCSE English or an equivalent qualification (or be able to demonstrate reading and writing ability from a previous working environment). Some experience of enforcement and/or car parking would be an advantage.

You will need to have a full clean driving licence for this role, a vehicle will be provided for work use only and will be based at the Council Offices, Hailsham.
