**Role summary**

Working with the Senior Technical Advisor and Technical & After Sales Manager the role is responsible for delivering market-leading technical support to all our customer groups, both internal and external. Working in the local business environment, face to face with other stakeholders including & Technical Specification Managers & Tapered Scheme Advisors. Using your knowledge and experience you will use your technical, organisational and decision making skills to drive the Technical function to meet local business and BMI Group requirements.The position will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity, safety, regulation and environmental compliance of our design specifications while delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective membrane design solutions to meet the customer expectations.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Provide technical advice to customers and internal sales teams in line with BMI and BS Standards.
- Offer detailed technical support for a defined flat technical area of expertise.
- Support the creation of system specifications ensuring all specifications produced are compliant with internal and external standards.
- Ensure all system specifications and site inspections are created and logged in the CRM/SpecMaster systems.
- Carryout Wind Uplift, U - Value & Drainage calculation to support the BMI Specification.
- Offer installation advice, in line with BMI Instructions. by phone or electronic communication.
- Ensure basic technical questions can be answered for all roofing areas and seek support of experts in other fields where required.
- Play an active role in developing Technical Services systems.

**Essential competencies, skills and experience**
- A good standard of technical ability in flat roofing and building construction.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills;
- Proficient IT skills, training given on internal systems.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work independently, but at the same time work closely within a supportive team environment.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings with an understanding of construction related terminology, although training will be given.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage/prioritise own workload.

**Desirable competencies, skills and experience**
- Previous experience of working in the flat roofing industry (Merchants, Contractors)
- CAD Drawing experience

**Required qualifications**
- Degree (or equivalent) in a construction discipline
- Current driving licence
