Sandcastle Care Limited is an expanding residential therapeutic childcare provider, based in the

North-West of England and West Yorkshire. We care deeply that each child and young person is provided with the best possible life chances to grow, develop and thrive. We strive to provide a highly nurturing, trauma-informed and trauma-responsive approach to childcare in small, therapeutic and homely environments, for children and young people presenting with a range of emotional, behavioural and social needs.

**Purpose of the post**
- The post holder will be part of Therapeutic Team and will work with children and young people to provide high quality consultation, emotional well-being and mental health assessment and therapeutic plans of care.
- The postholder will guide and support practitioner teams in the delivery of our model of trauma-informed therapeutic care/parenting.
- The poster holder will support our integrated therapeutic approach within our residential children’s homes, by offering weekly, flexible, therapy interventions to our young people.
- It is important that the postholder is willing to work flexibly to meet the changing needs of the young people placed within our care. There is an excellent support network for therapists within the therapy team in addition to the support from practitioner teams when working within our children’s homes.
- The post holder will follow a programme of induction that supports new employees to develop their role at Sandcastle Care. Clinical Supervision and Line Management support will be provided by senior staff from within the therapy team. Continuing professional development is encouraged and appropriate training/ courses will be identified to support you in your role.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- To offer an ‘embedded practice’ in our homes, guiding the development and practice of the practitioner team to offer a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to meet the wider needs of young people.
- To translate, develop and deliver the principles and philosophy of Sandcastle Care into high quality advice, support and training for practitioner teams.
- To provide a space in which young people feel able to express, articulate and reflect on their emotions, enabling them to develop a richer understanding of their experiences and supporting them to thrive.
- To provide an adaptive and flexible approach to supporting the needs of our young people, including offering therapeutic support to young people on the telephone and video-call, if appropriate.
- To undertake high quality therapeutic assessments of children and young people and make recommendations about appropriate therapeutic interventions, in accordance with individual assessed needs.
- To prepare high-quality electronic clinical records and reports and provide verbal feedback where appropriate.
- To maintain appropriate records and reports in line with GDPR accurately and promptly reviewing available information and evaluating the impact of your work.
- To work closely with young people ensuring a personalised plan of therapeutic delivery, and provide feedback in relation to progress and achievement.
- To identify thresholds where additional advice and guidance from our Clinical

Director/Clinical Psychologist is required as part of the young person’s therapeutic care plan.
- To use assessment tools to measure and monitor the needs and outcomes for young people, and to translate this into practice.
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times and to follow
