Buyer/senior Buyer

An established, successful automotive manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Buyer/Senior Buyer to work from their Droitwich headquarters. You join the small purchasing team and take responsibility for a selection of suppliers to build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favourable terms. This role is a mix of direct and indirect products/components/services

The company manufactures machinery for a range of industries and has a very strong order book.

**As the Buyer you will support the Purchasing Manager**:

- Work with existing supply base across Europe and the Far East to ensure the best possible part/material and component supply.
- Build very strong relationships and where possible deliver more favourable commercial terms.
- Look at a range of new suppliers to increase the supply base.
- Manage the new component introduction from suppliers.
- Overall you will work to improve the purchasing function and ensure it is best in class to enable the production targets to be met on time in full.

**To be successful within the role you will have**:

- Previous experience as a Buyer/Senior Buyer within a manufacturing business.
- New Product Introduction.
- Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
- Far East sourcing.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Ideally you will have purchased a range of materials, components, and castings.
- Worked with a range of MRP/ERP systems.
