We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Human Resources Assistant to join our Legal 500 recognised Law firm based in Chesterfield in the ongoing support of our HR Manager, wider HR team, Company and colleagues in the delivery of HR services.

**Salary range**: This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, with ability to develop further within the role. A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will also be offered.

**Hours of business**:Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (no weekends).

**Work location**:Office based/In person.

**Purpose**:
The HR function is an essential part of our business and plays a pivotal role in people planning, support and company success. The HR team care about our people and provide a comprehensive, confidential and collaborative service to all stakeholders.

As the Senior HR Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR function within our law firm. Working closely with the HR Manager, you will be responsible for executing HR processes, ensuring compliance with employment laws and firm policies. The essential parts of this role are to ensure that the day-to-day administration is accurately performed and maintained, including payroll reporting through our internal HR systems.

**Role requirements**:
This position would suit someone who is enthusiastic, forward thinking and conscientious with excellent communication, collaborative and writing skills, who is approachable, friendly and presents professionally. The applicant should have a strong work ethic, a desire to progress professionally, and be a team player who is willing to support others with empathy whilst ensuring high levels of confidentiality.

**Entry Requirement**:

- 4 + years previous experience of working in a HR Assistant role as a minimum is preferred.
- CIPD Level 3/Certificate in People Practice. Also, considering/working towards Level 5 CIPD (external training to achieve formal qualification may be considered following probationary period, if not attained) is preferred.
- Technical skills including proficiency with Microsoft office programs including Excel and Outlook is essential.
- The right to work in the UK is essential.
- Provide full support to the HR Manager, wider HR colleagues and stakeholders.
- Update and manage HR internal databases and systems.
- Manage HR documents and personnel records.
- Dealing with employee sickness (return to work meetings) and holidays records.
- Assist with data collection of relevant items for monthly payrolling processes.
- Assist with all aspects of recruitment and new starter onboarding process.
- First Aider and Health & Safety representative.
- Accurate note taker
- Conduct exit/leavers interviews.
- Meet legal obligations and perform tasks in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure continuous self-development in relation to good employment practice and key current employment legislation.
- Other HR related administration tasks.

Own transport/valid UK driver licence holder is essential to this post as there will be a requirement to attend meetings throughout our offices based in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and the South Yorkshire areas.
