**Job description**

**Recovery support worker**

We are looking for an empathic and patient women, to work as part of a team to support a highly musical individual with neurodiversity and psychosis, to support her and to help redevelop her skills, confidence and independence. This is a chance to engage in relational working and employ your creative and skills thinking to make a profound positive change in a person’s life. You will receive training and supervision.

Location: Rusholme, M14

Hours: 16 - 24 hours per week.

Wage: £12 per hour, enhanced rate for bank holidays worked, 5.6 weeks prorata paid annual leave per year.

**Responsibilities and duties**

You will be responsible for
- the safety of the client in the home and on trips outside the home.
- Motivating and developing engagement and communication and taking an enabling approach to care.
- Supporting and encouraging interests and enjoyment e.g. motivate through enjoying nature, the joy of music or other creative expressions, makeup, fashion
- Supporting and encouraging to take part in community life using a paced approach.
- Supporting the client through prompting re personal care
- Supporting and encouraging healthy eating and food preparation
- Supporting and encouraging maintaining the home, cleaning and tidying
- Support to maintain a healthy lifestyle through going for walks in nature, going to health suite, making healthy choices,
- Support with medication
- Liasing and working with family, friends and the team in order to develop plans.
- Take initiative, researching possible trips and activities to motivate and develop engagement
- Respect confidentiality

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Open minded, empathic and compassionate
- Active listening skills
- Lived experience of psychosis (desirable)
- Ability to develop a strong bond with the client
- Able to boundary set with sensitivity
- Fit and able to walk long distances at a reasonable pace
- Creative thinker
- Able to drive
- Able to cope with change and problem solve in supporting the client through her recovery journey.
- Excellent music skills, particularly in voice or guitar (desirable)

Prepared to undertake training or have existing knowledge of safeguarding, relational working and other relevant skills.
- Open to training in new approaches to supporting a voice hearer and to learn about dialoguing with voices
- Able to stay overnight on occasion (desirable)

DBS check required, no cost to applicant

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 16 hours+ per week

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
