**Events Coordinator**
**This is a permanent role: 37hrs per week**
We have an exciting opportunity for an Events Coordinator to join our friendly and collaborative marketing team.
In this role, you will lead on all elements of our event management across STEM Learning and the ENTHUSE Charitable Trust - taking the lead in designing our programme of events and awards, providing end-to-end operational management of all events, and driving innovation.
This is a great time to join our team and work with us to shape what events STEM Learning should be running - identifying which events bring the most value and who we can partner with to be more effective. You will evaluate regularly, assessing what's working and what we can improve.
We are looking to revamp the established STEM Learning Awards to create a higher impact celebration of excellence, as well as bringing our impact to live through face-to-face events with employers and educators.
We are looking for someone who has a very positive ‘can do' attitude, who is solution-focused and remains collected when working under pressure and towards tight deadlines. You will be confident with all aspects of event management, from designing a portfolio of events to making sure things run smoothly on the day.
You will need to have an enthusiastic, adaptable and resilient approach and be used to operating in a fast-paced changing environment.
**The Role**
Plan and deliver a portfolio of events, including our STEM Learning awards, events in support of fundraising and employer engagement, raising the profile of STEM Learning. You will design and drive powerful, integrated events that promote our organisation, brand, products and services, as well as horizon scanning for appropriate events for STEM Learning to have a presence, such as speaking and exhibiting opportunities.
You will plan and manage high-quality events:

- scoping and understanding requirements for each event
- planning events with attention to financial and time constraints
- booking venues, speakers, vendors (catering, decoration, musicians etc) - choosing the best combination of quality and cost
- creating and sharing marketing materials for event promotion, ensuring that content is written in a confident, compelling and concise style in-keeping with STEM Learning's brand
- managing all event operations (preparing venue, event bookings, invitations etc)
- doing final checks at the day of the event to ensure everything meets the required high standards
- overseeing event proceedings and act quickly to resolve problems
- evaluating event success, lessons learnt, and preparing reports for management teams

Providing guidance, advice and training across the organisation and the National STEM Learning Network you will facilitate and encourage the sharing of events best practice and continuously evaluate and improve the quality of support provided.
Other Responsibilities:

- ensure adherence to all legal and statutory requirements including data protection and safeguarding, and adherence to STEM Learning policies
- represent STEM Learning at appropriate events, meetings and committees
- keep professionally updated by undertaking CPD
- undertake other duties that may reasonably be requested

**Key Challenges**
- Balancing priorities and resources to achieve optimum results, reporting on effectiveness of events.
- Cross-working across STEM Learning to ensure best use of resources, driving efficiencies.
- Collaborating effectively with stakeholders: senior management, funders and a wide range of external partners.
- Developing a programme of events, moving from a disconnected set of events to making connections between STEM Learning events and driving forward new ideas for our events programme.
- Education/experience:_ proven experience in event management / coordination with a track record of organising successful events
- Planning and problem-solving:_ experience of planning and executing events using initiative and judgement. Well-organised with multi-tasking skills. Excellent problem-solving ability, finding a way forward in challenging circumstances.
- Communication skills:_ well-developed written and oral communication skills with excellent attention to detail. Expert at writing clear, concise copy.
- Stakeholder management:_ strong customer orientation and ability to form effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Outstanding communication and negotiation ability. Highly effective skills in supplier selection and management.
- Performance monitoring:_ experience in monitoring key marketing/communication metrics, ensuring good cost control and reporting on what is working well/less well, recommending practical innovations and improvements.
