To support this, we offer a wide range of opportunities beyond the core curriculum whether in the Arts which includes school productions, dance, drama and music performances or through our extensive sports programme which takes advantage of grass and 4G pitches, Sports hall with specialist dance studio and Multi Use Games Area.

Our state-of-the-art building and world class facilities make the most of the latest technology available to enhance the learning environment, including the Google Education platform. Most importantly, children and young adults at Greenwood Academy tell us they enjoy coming to school and feel safe and secure.

As Head of Maths you would join a team which believes in a knowledge rich curriculum, in which they progress from KS2 to KS5 and beyond using a mastery model approach. Our KS3 curriculum develops a deep understanding of number, algebra, statistics, geometry and ratio and proportion. Each year the topics become increasingly more difficult and build on their prior knowledge. We use a range of physical manipulatives and online resources to support our pupils with their learning. In KS4 we continue with a focus on exam style questions. Pupils are encouraged to be resilient and develop their problem solving skills. All students have access to the same high level knowledge regardless of previous attainment or additional needs.

We want someone who believes that no student should be held back by their economic background and who is passionate about literature and delivering the very best knowledge to our pupils.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Head of Maths who will be responsible for driving up standards and rapidly improving outcomes within Maths. They will also have a passion for developing teaching and learning.

- Bring an unwavering commitment to promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning across the department and the academy;
- Be passionate about developing their own practice and the teaching and learning practice of others;
- Have a relentless obsession about developing all aspects of Maths teaching and learning;
- Be a committed team player;
