**Job description**:
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s Communications Team promotes the MCA’s internal and external profile to a wide range of audiences. It is responsible for marketing, press, media, digital and internal communications.

The Media Content Creator reports to the Media Producer within the Office of the Chief Executive. As part of the media team, they will produce rich engaging video and creative content that promotes the work of the MCA and its key safety messages.

The Media Content Creator will work with the Media Producer to proactively plan, create and curate engaging videos and other forms of multimedia content. This will help raise awareness of our safety messaging and the various roles of the agency. They will also ensure that all content published on our platforms is accessible to a wide range of audiences. By utilising organisational and creative skills they will help in the delivery of projects from initial brief through to final completion with support from the Media Producer and wider Communications Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a part of the MCA Team whereby your daily role provides a valuable enabling function for the delivery of a life saving service. It is a fast paced role where no two days are the same and you will have the opportunity to meet and build lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

This role will be based in the Southampton HQ. MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.

**Responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Creating clear, engaging, and shareable content, with emphasis on video and animation for use across the MCA’s internal and external digital channels.
- Ensuring that all video/animation/podcast content is compliant with accessibility regulations.
- Providing media production and content creation (relating to video, animation, and podcasts) support to Colleagues.
- Providing support to the Communications Team to help promote the work of the Agency’s brands while protecting and enhancing its reputation.
- Developing strong positive relationships with MCA staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and the public.
- Carrying out project evaluations to identify how to maximize future opportunities.
- Keeping internal audience informed/updated about relevant external communications.

**About You**

To thrive in this role, it is essential that you have a background of developing effective multimedia content suitable for use across a range of digital channels and for a range of audiences.

You will have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing with the ability to adapt your delivery to suit a wide variety of audiences. A strength of yours will be building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will have the ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation to produce creative content that stand out in crowded markets. You'll be well-organised and someone who can handle workloads with often conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment and produce optimised content for digital channels.
