Working with our National Grid and Land & Property teams, the ET Property Data Lead will be responsible for developing the Electricity Property team’s strategy to improve data quality and drive efficiencies through digitisation and lead/ support on delivering and embedding improvements.

The ET Property team manage data relating to hundreds of property sites and tens of thousands of electricity assets, landowners and legal agreements. You will become the key person who understands the relationships between these datasets, how they are managed, and how our performance around data and processes can be improved and is measured.

You will support in the management of our SharePoint sites and core datasets. You will continue the work to transform our systems and data structures to be well governed, easy to use, to produce good quality data for use in reporting, and allow our department to perform at maximum efficiency.

**Key activities**:

- Working closely with our stakeholders and technical experts in National Grid, create and maintain a _Data and Systems Strategy_ for ET Property based on continuous improvement: from quick wins to longer term projects.
- You will come to understand how each of our teams use and create data in their day-to-day work, together with the department’s wider objectives and business strategy.
- Provide insight on where data improvements would drive the most value for UK Land and Property in alignment with overall strategy.
- Understand our compliance requirements and develop good governance relating to ET Property’s data, processes and systems.
- Understand National Grid’s wider systems (e.g. Ellipse, GeoGrid), and our external supplier systems, and engage with those system owners to maximise the potential for data integration and exchange as part of the Strategy.
- Scope out opportunities for improvement in data, processes and systems. Implement these using the tools and resources available, or build business cases for the use of our IT team’s specialist developers.
- Manage ET Property’s network of SharePoint site collections.
- Engaging with our external suppliers over matters relating to shared systems and data integrations.
- Auditing data and access permissions across systems, as appropriate.

**About you**:

- Proven ability for effecting continuous Improvement programmes and methodologies, particularly in the areas of Data Quality, Governance and Management
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint, Excel and the rest of the core Microsoft Office software.
- You understand the basic concepts of how data (including geographical data) is modelled.
- You can demonstrate the ability to think strategically, commercially and can communicate the broader picture to stakeholders using language they will understand.
