Our client is looking for a Communications Advisor on a permanent basis - staff role, located in Aberdeen.

**Role**

The role of Communications Advisor (UKGIRM) is an exciting opportunity to use your ideas, enthusiasm and drive for internal and external storytelling and employee engagement to support a business area that has an important and evolving role in the Companies Energy Transition strategy.

UKGIRM (UK & Global IRM) operates in several regions including the UK, Canada, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Azerbaijan and West Africa.

Part of a highly experienced Communications team, this full-time role has access to flexible and hybrid working options and may be required to undertake occasional planned local/national travel.

**The role you will play in our team**:
A Communications career seldom has two days the same, and this keeps us motivated and focused. You need both the patience to plan, and the ability to adapt.

You will network and partner with colleagues to bring to life events and articles around key business areas and initiatives, such as Energy Transition, Health & Wellbeing and our Festival of Learning. Also, to create content for our digital newsletter (including project and operational successes, individual achievements, community support initiatives and company updates).

Event planning will be a recurring theme as we continue to connect with our global workforce and external audiences. You will co-ordinate the end-to-end process from creating engaging and informative content and materials, scheduling speakers, arranging and distributing merchandise, to in-person attendance and networking; ensuring a positive and professional experience for all.

**Responsibilities**
- Work collaboratively with the UKGIRM Communications Manager and a wide network of stakeholders, to develop and deliver internal and external communications
- Work collaboratively with the UKGIRM Communications Co-ordinator to deliver a variety of day-to-day requests and other longer-term projects
- Plan and deliver our local employee events, by creating engaging experiences that connect our people and showcase our industry expertise
- Manage and execute companies participation at local external forums, conferences, and events
- Create, edit and evolve inspiring and engaging articles, intranet and video content, and social media posts
- Liaise with relevant organisations, suppliers and agencies. These typically include industry partners, third sector organisations, creative design agencies, video producers and exhibition stand contractors.
- Respond in person and electronically to enquiries from a range of stakeholders
- Provide communications advice and support to colleagues
- Adopt a best practice approach using company communication tools and brand guidelines
- Support the emergency response media focal point (training will be provided)
- Conduct tasks in support of team plans, projects and reporting including general co-ordination and administrative

**Requirements**:
Here are the skills and attributes that act as a strong foundation for this communications role:

- Experience in a communications or similar role
- Confident with technology and have working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint
- Able to translate technical content into engaging stories
- Willingness and enthusiasm to manage and deliver repeat or annual projects
- Proactive, flexible in approach, self-motivated, resourceful and capable of working under own direction and as part of a team
- A confident communicator, comfortable dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders across various levels, disciplines, global offices and sites
- Organised, with an ability to prioritise your workload during periods of high volume, as well as effectively delivering on conflicting and changing priorities, managing stakeholder expectations accordingly
- Demonstrate initiative with the ability to identify and highlight opportunities as well as potential issues
- Good general financial administration skills to manage your projects’ budgets
