Applications are invited for a Grade 6 Research Assistant to work within the Health Behaviours Team. We have two posts available and are looking for someone to join us who is as enthusiastic about making a difference to the world as we are.

We have a role available working with Professor Paul Aveyard on a research programme on the Oxford Health BRC Preventing Multiple Morbidities Theme; working in project groups to support and develop research, working primarily to support experimental and intervention-based research projects led by others.

There will be opportunities for leading projects and working collaboratively with others.The research methods would include quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and write-up.The postholder would be expected to engage the public in shaping their research programme, and disseminating the outcomes to academic audiences and other stakeholders such as policymakers and the public.

Responsibilities will include supporting research and administrative activities related to the RC including gathering, analysing, presenting qualitative and quantitative data, preparation of research materials for clinical trials, participant recruitment initiatives, and supporting the implementation of behavioural trials in a supportive team environment.

We have another role working mainly with Dr Charlotte Albury, who has won a national award recognising her inclusive and supportive leadership practices.

The successful applicant will lead recruitment of sites and participants, and undertake qualitative research to understand integration of the new ‘Healthy Weight Coach’ role in primary care. There will be opportunities to collaboratively with others, including policy, public, and clinical stakeholders. The research methods would include quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and write-up.

The appointee will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the research project, including recruiting participants the study (in clinical and non-clinical settings), liaising with partners, collecting, analysing, and writing up the studies. This also includes exciting opportunities to contribute to policy.

You will be enthusiastic about applied healthcare research, and hold a relevant undergraduate and masters degree. You will also be able to evidence significant academic attainment and interest in the area, as well as possess a sufficient experience in recruitment and project management.

You will be based in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work.

The positions are funded by NIHR for 12 months in the first instance.
