**Description**

The Head of Corporate Finance leads on all budgeting, forecasting & corporate activities including re-financing and any due diligence on potential acquisition targets. A strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset, this role is also responsible for forecasting, modelling, assisting in the delivery of board packs and presentations for external stakeholders, including private equity investors and bank

**Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:
**Financial modelling**
- Responsible for forecasting and commercial modelling across the business
- Own 5-year planning and budgeting processes across the wider business
- Create and manage an integrated, P&L, Balance Sheet & cashflow model that includes debt and functionality to measure forecast performance against bank covenants
- Commercial input and modelling support for business development / new business tenders

**Corporate activities**:

- Lead on all corporate activities
- Assist the Group Finance Director and wider Executive team to prepare and present the business for external purposes
- Appraise potential acquisition opportunities and initial due diligence

**Reporting & relationships**
- Responsibility for assisting in the delivery of timely, accurate board pack and materials for the Executive team, and other external stakeholders such as investors & bank
- Key point of contact with the bank providing reassurance of covenant compliance
- Ongoing analysis and input into Business Development and pricing tenders

**Key Internal and External Relationships**:

- Senior Business Managers
- Finance team (help develop commercial development within Finance)
- Executive Team
- External advisors

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**

Essential
- Excellent modelling skills, including full suite of financial statements
- Advanced excel / MI skills.
- Ability to model business unit carve out scenarios
- Ability to pick up existing models and identify the need to improve or rebuild as required
- Comfortable manipulating occasional large data sets to extract relevant key drivers/MI
- Experience of producing high quality, investor grade presentations
- Ability to summarise complex commercial arrangements succinctly & clearly
- Ability to model impacts of new/changing customer commercials and wider market scenarios, and present accordingly
- Qualified accountant with 3-7 years PQE and a record of success in similar roles
- Clear strategic thinker
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong commercial mindset
- Passionate to hit deadlines

Desired
- PE experience or experience working in a leveraged environment
- Experience of managing a bank relationship, including covenant negotiations

**Other Contextual Information/Special Features**:

- Due to the geographical nature of the role, availability outside normal Canadian or UK hours may be required
