**The role **

Due to ongoing growth, Radius Payment Solutions is looking for a new Head of Credit, to support the Credit Operations Director in two key areas: budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, as well as managing the Credit function for the Southern Europe fuel divisions in Italy, Portugal and Spain. Reporting to the Credit Operations Director, this is a key new role within the department.

The Department is responsible for end-to-end credit risk management across all our trading divisions in c15 countries worldwide, with c£750m of credit lines supporting our business customers.

You will be a key member of the Credit Leadership Team, and expected to lead by example, working collaboratively with CLT peers to deliver against Credit and Group strategic goals.

This role will suit a qualified accountant, ideally with experience in restructuring or TS/M&A. A professional with an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset, capable of rolling-up their sleeves, driving change and building new capability within a diverse global Group.

**Key Role Responsibilities**:
**Financial Analysis**
- Annual budgeting and reforecasting
- Monthly preparation and review of bad debt performance
- Mid month forecasting
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required to provide financial insight both within Credit, and to the wider business

**Southern Europe**
- Responsible for managing risk within the Group credit policy and the delivery of the Southern Europe fuel bad debt budget through overseeing the management of the Collection and Recovery teams in:

- Italy,
- Portugal and
- Spain.

The three teams are each based in country and headed by a Credit Manager. In total 15 staff operate across the three territories. They deal with telephone based collection of direct debit returns as well as more traditional credit control processes for manual paying customers. Responsible for the full collections process from initial default to pre-write off at 180 days old, where necessary including chasing via legal means, liaising with outsourced collection agents and solicitors, as well as dealing with insurance claims.
- Ultimate ownership of the Accounts Receivable ledgers in each country
- Identify risks and issues impacting bad debt from daily activities. Suggest and implement policy, process or procedural changes to mitigate risk, drive improvement and ultimately result in stronger financial results
- Deliver against agreed deadlines on projects

People Management and Development
- Direct line management of 3 Credit Managers and a team of approximately 15 people
- Leading by example and demonstrating outstanding ‘on the job’ performance
- Responsible for driving development of all levels in the team and for ensuring robust succession planning and talent management / recruitment
- Establish priorities and set targets to motivate your teams to deliver against the Group and Credit’s strategic goals and objectives
- Create a strong performance culture amongst the teams and build the buy-in and resilience required to deliver change with a continuous improvement mindset

Stakeholder Management, Departmental and Business integration
- Proactively engage relevant stakeholders both inside and outside the Credit Department to build relationships and share knowledge
- Build strong and effective working relationships with Regional Directors in each country, proactively managing expectations and delivering against deadlines
- Drive stronger collaboration with Group Finance and Finance Operations across day-to-day operations, reporting, ledger management and bad debt provisioning
- Build and maintain strong internal relationships with other key departments, in particular Sales and Account Management
