**About the role** Balfour Beatty Power T&D** have a fantastic opportunity for a **Head of Innovation** to join their rapidly growing business. The role will manage the continuous improvement and innovations for the expanding portfolio of projects. The focus will be on process improvements that drive productivity, improve safety, reduce costs, give programme assurance and create effective and efficient ways of delivery. The role would suit an applicant with a mind for innovation and problem solving. They will support the business in achieving the implementation of new innovative techniques and methods to improve our culture and contribute to achieving the project delivery.

Balfour Beatty operate a smart working policy allowing for a balance between office/site and home working.
**What you'll be doing**

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyse current work practices to identify areas for improvement and educate as to how to improve business and deliverable processes.
- Devise and test solutions and roll out new ways of working.
- Value stream mapping, identifying inefficiencies in productivity with a particular focus on layouts, sequencing and programme improvements.
- Recommend to management changes that can cut waste from operating procedures.
- Deploy appropriate methodologies to problem solving and support teams to solve problems. Ensure the escalation process for problem solving is effective.
- Support the business in establishing “best practice”.
- Foster the growth of Operational Excellence behaviours within the business through coaching, mentoring, and training teams and championing performance excellence.
- Support the development of our strategic delivery and supply chain partners on site to ensure they are part of the improvement process and culture.
- Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, educational institutes, innovation centres and other service providers.
- Ensure an effective interface with teams and individuals is maintained.
- Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with the project, business and client quality standard requirements.
- Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to present data effectively.
- Understanding of cost and financial impacts of change.
