About the role:
The Early Years Apprentice will be based in the Nursery classroom working with children aged two to three but they will also spend time with the children in Kindergarten who are aged three to four years old. They will be expected to support the children’s learning through adult led activities, both in the classroom and outdoor learning areas. The apprentice will be required to carry out observations on the children and will be trained to use an online learning journal on an iPad. This information will be discussed in weekly staff meetings, which they will attend during nursery hours.

Under the supervision of the Nursery class leader, they will carry out the following duties:

- Work as part the team to prepare and clear away resources and learning activities.
- Carry out playtime and lunch duties as necessary on a rotational basis with other staff.
- Help to ensure the arrival and departure of the children is properly recorded and monitored.
- Liaise with parents and carers and other visitors on site, making them feel welcome.
- Ensure the highest standard of hygiene including nappy changing, cleaning of resources and food preparation.
- Read all the policies and procedures and ensure they are familiar with them.
- Free two-course lunch which is usually eaten with the children in the Dining Hall

**Apprenticeship Summary**:

- Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator
- Duration: 16 months programme.
- 35 hours per week, between the hours of 08.00 to 06.00pm Monday to Friday (shift times tbc).
- Must have achieved Maths and English GCSE's to a grade C/4 or above (or functional skills equivalent).
- Training provider: LMP Education (Rated 3rd best apprentice provider across the UK).
