This is an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist to join our team within the Emergency Department at University Hospital Wishaw

**Job purpose**

To be an autonomous expert clinician working within the Emergency Department specialty across NHSL in conjunction with the Care Group Lead.

The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist, whilst managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge.

The post holder will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process increasing the focus on health promotion and self management.

The post holder will provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers within and out with the service.

The post holder will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence based practice and quality assurance in service area in conjunction with the care group lead.

The post holder will implement research, audit and to develop a service that responds to national initiatives policies and clinical governance.

**Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job**

First level Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent or equivalent masters in rehabilitation sciences leading to physiotherapy HPC registration.

Current HPC Registration

Education to/working towards/operating at Masters level

Post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.

Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.

**Additional information specific to the role**

As part of this role you may be required to work 5 days over 7.
