Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a **Technical Sales Manager**based in Caerphilly.

**This role will require frequent travel throughout the UK visiting customers as well as some infrequent trips to Europe.**

**Technical Sales Executive Benefits**:

- Basic salary of up to £50,000

**Technical Sales Duties and Responsibilities**
- Specify and quote suitable metal detection solutions for customers across the broad range of industries including mainly chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and mining.
- Contact existing customers, new customers, key account customers, agents & affiliates regarding all new products and to answer technical enquiries to help support continued sales growth and development.
- Build excellent relationships with new and existing customers, maximising on business potential where possible and ensuring repeat business.
- Negotiation of pricing based on opportunity and project size, producing quotation for customers.
- Generating leads and identifying new key accounts opportunities for the business.
- Communicate a detailed understanding of a wide portfolio of technical products.
- Keep record of all communication with customers on our CRM system.
- Take a proactive approach to contacting potential customers throughout the UK and Europe and undertake site visits/surveys, where required.
- Frequent strategic sales travel (approx. 40%) to visit existing and new customers alike.
- Support other members of the sales and management team with regards to metal detection equipment.
- Monitor and report sales activity of metal detection equipment to senior management on a weekly basis.
- Represent the company at exhibitions and networking opportunities, throughout the UK and Europe.

**Technical Sales Essential Experience/Qualifications**
- Experience within a similar Technical Sales role within either engineering or manufacturing, preferably within the packaging or process equipment sector preferred but not essential.
- At least 5 years of experience of Technical Sales experience.
- Able to generate leads, build a sales pipeline and identify new sales opportunities
- Account management experience, building long lasting relationships with customers to ensure repeat business
- Negotiating costs and providing quotes to customers
- Able to understand and learn technical product knowledge
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Able to work well with internal teams
