I am currently seeking a Children's Support Worker to join a brilliant and vibrant Residential Service in Burgess Hill, East Sussex.

As a Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and care to children between 11 - 17 years old with complex behavioural and emotional needs. You will play a crucial role in helping these young people to develop essential life skills and overcome the challenges they may face. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and contribute to their overall well-being and development.

**Overview;**

**Role**:Children's Residential Worker

**Location**: Burgess Hill, West Sussex

**Salary**:£28,000 - £30,000 (inclusive of sleep in shift bonus)

**Hours**:Full time, permanent

**Shifts**:Rolling 4 week rota - combination of early, late, long day and sleep in shifts

To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations. Previous experience in a role working with children is crucial, as is an understanding of the needs and complexities of children with behavioural and emotional challenges.

**Responsibilities;**
- To act as a role model and mentor to the children
- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
- Supporting poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
