**About The Role**:

We negotiate deals with suppliers. We listen to what brands and products our customers want. We work in embedded business teams, so our Buyers sit with their supply chain, finance and technical counterparts, working alongside each other to make decisions and take action quickly. We even have joint targets so that we’re unified in our mission to serve the customer.

Our Merchandise Planner - Wine will support the category to plan stock in line with the buying programmes in a timely and cost efficient manner. You will work closely with the supply team, logistics, buyers and suppliers to forecast the stock for the total wine category. You will be integral to a complex and varied route to market plan with UK domestically supplied products as well as products that are imported directly by us for our customers from across the globe. You will be abreast of changing conditions in harvests and import logistics to enable you to foresee challenges and work through solutions to maintain strong availability for customers. You will support the buyers in managing the cost base by effectively clearing through old stock to bring in new lines. You will work closely with our trade planning team to work up the strongest presentation plans for our promotional strategy in store to create impact and display value to customers. You will regularly meet suppliers to review short term and long term availability together - working through issues but also ensuring best practice forecasting and stock management is in place to have efficient and effective logistics plans in place. You will work with our imports and logistics teams to find more efficient solutions to manage stock and reduce stock holding without impacting the availability for customers in store. You will manage a weekly stock budget to improve cash flow and depot capacity.

This role is within an exciting and fast paced part of the business working cross category with a broad breadth of stakeholders giving you fantastic exposure to the varied retail and supply chain processes.

**About You**:
So that you are set for success, we are looking for a self-starter, who is an exceptional communicator with the ability to influence at all levels. You will work as part of a versatile team with a can-do culture, so it’s important that you are tenacious and strive for excellence. A strong track record in a similar supply chain/demand planning environment is preferable. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers at varying levels.
