This post is a great opportunity to come and work with a friendly team of Children's Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, based from the Royal United Hospitals, Bath providing therapy support for the team. The post will involve providing prescribed therapy programmes and assisting children to use specialist postural support equipment - there is therefore a physical element to this role. Community settings visited will include local special schools and mainstream schools within BANES. A car driver and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement of the post. The post will also include administrative tasks and basic IT skills will be required. We will provide you with any necessary training. Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs, especially physical disabilities will be an advantage. If you are a great communicator, with good organisational skills and a 'can do ' approach, we would love to hear from you.

To assist qualified Children’s Therapists in the overall therapy management (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) of children with special needs, including physical disabilities.
Based from the RUH Children's Centre, to work in a variety of settings, predominantly a Special school but also including mainstream, home visits and outpatient settings.
To liaise with carers, support workers, and staff from health and other agencies, such as orthotics and equipment reps.
To work independently but under the direction and guidance of qualified therapists to implement therapeutic programmes, carry out adjustments to specialist postural support equipment and teach education staff basic interventions to help children with limited mobility using initiative within level of competence.
To keep an up-to-date electronic health record of any intervention carried out.
To assist with the ordering, issuing and maintenance of equipment for the department
Full driving license and access to vehicle essential
