**The Role**

An opportunity has arisen for a temporary role (15 months) within the Chemical Analysis and Spectroscopy Team, part of the Engineering and Analysis Group of the Global NSG Research and Development Function.

The team provides key inorganic support in the analysis of glasses, glass-making raw materials and associated products to NSG manufacturing operations and licensees on a global basis. In addition, support is also provided to the Group’s R&D project portfolio in the development of new products and processes.

The role would be of interest to individuals with experience in a Chemical Analysis / Quality Control environment.

Key responsibilities include the operation of complex analytical equipment to aid the analysis and quality control of glasses, ceramics, geological oxides and related materials; sample preparation of incoming materials; all aspects of data processing and reporting; basic equipment maintenance activities and full compliance with all relevant health, safety, environment and quality procedures. Experience of XRF analysis is desirable, but full training can be provided.
