Working for a European charity who specialise in the medical industry, you will join an innovate and highly regarded group of professionals who are experts in their field.

You will provide administrative support to the publications team in the day-to-day running of publications and support in maintaining the high quality of accepted submissions. Working closely with the team, in particular, the Editors, Publications Director and Managing Editor, the Editorial Assistant role is key to ensuring the continued strategic development of the publication’s portfolio.

This role will be offered on a hybrid basis with 2 office-based days in the Windsor Office and 3 remote working days.

Salary £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare, employee discount schemes, training and development.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Gather data for publications meetings including but not limited to editorial office meetings, strategy meetings, editor meetings and board meetings.
- Support in the scheduling of publications meetings as requested, preparing and sharing Doodle polls, sending out invitations and tracking responses.
- Record meeting notes as requested and circulate these, with actions clearly highlighted.
- Produce conference submission reports when requested by internal and Editor requests.
- Ensure editorial board accounts are up to date including removing/ providing Associate Editor access, marking/ un-marking as an editorial board member.
- Work with the Publisher to ensure that the journal websites are up-to-date and accurate to the aims & scope, author guidelines and editorial board pages.
- Prepare reviewer lists for publication on an annual basis.
- Gather data on reviewer performance for the Editors-in-Chief to identify the reviewer of the year for each publication.
- Responding to author queries, including queries relating to manuscript content and formatting.
- Monitor the self-citation of relevant articles and report data as requested, to ensure that where we are co-publishing with our journals, the version is cited.
- Ensure graphical abstracts meet the submission requirements and where required, work with authors to improve.
- Final article acceptance checks ensuring all required sections are complete, article titles are correct, author details have been provided, layout is correct and requests are met etc.
- Support the Managing Editor in tracking key articles to ensure they are not delayed during the peer review process.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Educated to a degree level, or equivalent qualifications or experience.
- Interest in STM publishing, including peer review, open access and publishing ethics.
- Skills
- Strong communication and teamworking skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Highly efficient and organised, with an ability to multi-task.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
