Job Role Permanent, Full-time Term-time and includes 5 INSET days plus 2 weeks Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm 40 hours
Location: Luton LU1 area

**Key Duties**
- Be responsible for investigating all incidents of bullying and other conflict situations between individual students or groups of students and pro-actively promote the anti-bullying and anti-racism policy
- Discuss all incidents with the relevant Head of Year or Senior Head of Year and Vice Principal to decide suitable actions and sanctions and work directly with the victim(s) and perpetrator(s)
- Lead, coach and counsel small groups of targeted students regarding behaviour modification
- Ability to motivate children/young people by establishing empathetic and supportive working relationships Ability to work as part of a team to reach agreed targets and outcomes for children/young people.
- An understanding of how an effective pastoral system underpins high academic achievement
An ability to run intervention/clubs/extracurricular activities to support students needing additional support
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively with vulnerable children / young people in either education, social work, youth work or another related area of work. Extensive experience of working effectively with the parents /carers of children/young people
- Experience of working effectively with a range of professionals to promote children's/young people's learning or welfare Behavioural management/conflict resolution and practical counselling skills and write an action plan for a student, maintain studentrecords and write other short reports as required
- Knowledge of the responsibilities of agencies towards vulnerable children such as the Child Protection Procedures and have local community knowledge
- Must be educated to level 3 qualifications or higher. Ability to travel to meet work commitments in all parts of Luton Ability to work flexibly and attend evening and early morning meetings (up to 5 per month.)
