Little Scribblers Nursery in Larkhill, Bath is a 16 place day nursery offering a home-from-home childcare setting, where our small team of professional staff nurture children from the age of 18 months. With indoor and outdoor facilities our children are able to grow and learn with an extensive day care program to start their education.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to start your career in Early Years with a level 2 Apprenticeship within an Ofsted 'Outstanding' Nursery in Larkhall, Bath.

We are looking for someone with a passion for early years, who can work as part of a small friendly team, caring for children from ages 18 months and upwards. With fabulous facilities for both indoor and outdoor learning, you will learn new skills on the job whilst working towards your level 2 Early years Apprenticeship qualification.

The role will involve assisting in the planning and delivering of fun and educational activities for children, whilst taking care of the children’s developmental and personal needs.

As an apprentice you will be a key member of the nursery team, your duties may include:

- Planning and delivering fun and educational activities with the children
- Playing alongside and with children to support their development
- Contributing to children’s personal records through observation
- Assisting with the supervision of children at rest times and at mealtimes
- Contributing in creating a safe, happy environment for the children
- Ensuring the play area is clean and tidy at all times
- Working alongside outside agencies in supporting the children
- Friendly and approachable
- Patient and caring
- Have the ability to interact positively with children and adults
- Flexible and willing to carry out a number of different activities within the job role
- Reliable
- Trustworthy
- Motivated
- Good at time keeping

Entry requirements

Maths and English at Level 2 is desirable (but we can provide FS as part of the development if required)

Training to be provided

You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship.

As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in childcare.

Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning.

You will gain an Early years Level 2 qualification with a view to continuing onto further levels of apprenticeships and training.

Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.

Things to consider

Activities carried outside and inside in all weathers, some activities involve messy play.
You will be required to work Monday to Friday (exact hours to be confirmed). Contracted hours will be 30 to 40 per week.
Please ensure you research the location and transport access.
Start as soon as possible.
