We have an exciting opportunity to join **Transpennine Route Upgrade** as a **Project Management Assistant.**

**Transpennine Route Upgrade**:
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a Programme of activities that is improving the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield.

Stretching across the North of England, this key 76-mile Transpennine railway serves 23 stations, crosses over and dips under 285 bridges and viaducts, passes through six miles of tunnels, and crosses over 29 level crossings.

Proposed improvements as will deliver a hard-working, reliable railway for passengers, allowing for trains with more seats, more services and faster journey times.

**Brief Description**:
**The key output team manage the successful delivery of key outputs for TRU. Key Outputs are significant milestones during the delivery of the TRU Programme outcomes that mean something to passengers, freight, or stakeholders.** The role will involve working with a wide variety of industry wide stakeholders.**:
This role will provide project management support in the successful delivery Key Outputs including all associated governance processes, readiness activities and issue and risk management. The role will also support in secretariat duties in the management of the Key Output Working Group and Programme Integration Meetings.

**About the role (External)**:
**Some of the key accountabilities of this role are**:
1. Work as part of the TRU Programme Integration Team, assisting to deliver Key Outputs to time, cost, and quality through various phases in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

2. Support in the effective management of the Key Output Working Group and Programme Integration Meetings which includes attendance at key meetings to document outcomes and actions to provide a robust audit trail.

3. Monitor and report Key Output progress in accordance with TRU reporting timelines

5. Develop and integrate, effective support systems to enable the Project Manager to manage and control change.

6. Support the Project Management team in providing a safe working environment at all times during the execution of key outputs under their responsibility.

7. To ensure up to date procedures and other governance documentation for the Key Outputs team is maintained.

8. Support in the maintenance of the TRU Key Outputs Intranet site.

**We need you to have**:

- Some management experience including project management.
- Educated to HND/HNC or similar standard.
- Proven experience of stakeholder management

**It would be advantageous if you have**:

- Membership (or working towards membership of) the Association for Project Management.
- Rail Industry awareness
- A degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, environmental, commercial, and financial aspects.
