An opportunity has arisen for a permanent member of staff to work within the NUH Renal Speciality for a supplies coordinator. The role will encompass working closely with the speciality team to ensure safe stock levels for both Renal Home Patients and the Renal Wards, plus quality standards are maintained, whilst at the same time identifying and exploring savings opportunities with the department.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to provide an efficient, cost effective, independent and courteous service to a dedicated Renal Specialty, whilst at the same time working as part of the Renal stores team. This will include the management of stock within specialty to agreed levels and the processing and booking in of orders on Integra. Effective and timely communication with various parties to include Renal stores, suppliers and NHS logistics is essential.

The coordinator will provide support to clinical staff, Renal Home Patients in the provision of high quality patient-centred care, and liaising with 3rd party suppliers to arrange deliveries of Renal Medication.

This role is part of the Renal Supplies team providing an excellent logistic service to the Renal Wards and Home dialysis patients. This is a very busy environment where the emphasis is on team work, flexibility and mutual respect. We work very closely with Renal Nurses and patients so a high level of confidentiality is required.

Days of work will be Monday - Friday, hours to be confirmed

Training and qualifications

Essential criteria
- Educated to minimum A level/NVQ3 level or equivalent or can demonstrate the ability to work at that level
- Good working knowledge of MS Office

Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the Trust’s procurement management software, NHS Supply Chain and e-Series.

Experience

Essential criteria
- Experience of stock control environment

Desirable criteria
- Some clinical product knowledge
- Stock control/purchasing experience

Communication

Essential criteria
- To be able to communicate stock position in a clear and logical manner to all colleagues, customers, external organisations and patients.
- A high standard of written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, customers and external organisations

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
