We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our Outreach service for Children & Adolescents Oxford Service.

The Outreach Team is a community-based service for children, young people and their families who are experiencing serious and complex mental health disorders.

In this role, you'll make a valuable contribution to the treatment of patient’s and their recovery at the key stages of their journey through mental health services.

We are looking for someone who has a real passion for making a difference to children, young people and their families in a person centered way.

You will be an enthusiastic, and committed to providing responsive and high quality service to mental health service users and their families.

You will be able to work autonomously, exercise clear and coherent decision making skills and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the wider service whilst contributing to the treatment of patient’s and their recovery at the key stages of their journey through mental health services.

We have good structures of both Clinical and Managerial Supervision as well as Peer Supervision and Reflective Practice Groups. We also are keen to support staff in their professional development in both formal training opportunities as well as more informal team training.

- Provision of high quality assessments and treatment for young people and their families referred to the service. Utilizing knowledge and skills for interpretation and analysis of patients’ needs.
- Responsible for patient care; formulating programs of care and as appropriate undertaking care coordinator role for a small complex case load.
- Provision of appropriate interventions such as family work, cognitive therapy, behavioral management, individual counselling and group work with supervision as required. Ability to use an integration of theoretical frameworks to formulate practice.
- Provision of consultation and joint working with other agencies involved in the care of children and adolescents such as Social Services and Education.
- Clinical practice that demonstrates knowledge and promotes Children’s Rights and Child protection legislation.
- Ensuring effective communication within the multi-disciplinary team and wider agencies, to assist the highest standards of clinical services and the requirements of Clinical Governance are met.
- Maintaining accurate and contemporary clinical notes, reports and workload data with due regard to confidentiality and risk management.

- New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
