**Meal Time Assistant - Lady Modiford’s Church of England Primary School**

**Contract Term**: Permanent

**Starting Salary** : £10.50 per hour, £2,868 per year (FTE £20,258)

**Hours**: 6.25 hrs per week (1.25 hours per day Monday to Friday)

**Term Time **: 38 weeks

**Start date** : As soon as possible

When the School Council were asked what qualities, they would like to see in a Meal time assistant, the pupils would like, amongst other things:
“Someone who knows good games to play and will join in with the games too”

“Someone who is kind”

“A person who helps us cut up our food if it is tricky”

“Someone who helps us work out whose turn it is”

At Lady Modiford’s, everyone prides themselves on their excellent behaviour. Recent visitors to the school have commented on how well behaved the pupils are. The pupils live and breathe the school values each and every day and encouraged to do this by the excellent staff in the school, who consistently model the behaviour expected of the pupils.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

In addition to being a ‘can do’ person the main duties of the role are to:

- Set up the dining hall.
- Set up and lead play activities in the playground;
- Supervision of all pupils during their meal time and organising the dinner queue
- Co-ordinate play for pupils
- Assist with the well-being of pupils during lunchtime;
- Support the supervision of children during lunch and play, using initiative to ensure caring quality provision is continuously made
- Experience of working with children is not essential but a happy and helpful demeanour is

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

- Yelverton, PL20 6JR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Management: 1 year (preferred)
