Under the direction of the Sales Manager, The Business Development Representative will be responsible for business development and promotion of different product categories: Standard Cases, Customized Case Solutions (Technical Packaging), Lighting Products.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities by establishing new customers and working with existing customer base.
- Develop and expand Peli distribution network
- Work closely on sales projects with distributors, dealers and OEM customers.
- Visit dealers, end-users and OEM’s to perform product training
- Meet with resellers to determine commercial activity in the area, review status of current sales efforts, resolve problems, ensure sales and marketing goals are being achieved
- Receive inbound sales calls from potential customers, conduct on-site visits and assist with preparation of proposals and quotations
- Represent Peli at trade shows involving, but not limited to, stand set-up/tear-down, recording leads and providing product information. Find competitive product information, learn strategies of Peli competition, cultivate relationships with potential strategic business partners, and build market/industry knowledge to be able to answer comparative questions by customers.
- Perform telemarketing duties and research on potential clients by contacting resellers and/or potential end-users and OEM’s.
- Update customer database (CRM) and document customer-related activity.
- When required, liaise with internal manufacturing and operations personnel based in Europe and United States to ensure timely delivery of projects. Proactively communicate project status to customer.
- Assist Finance and Operations Departments in resolving customer issues proactively and quickly as needed.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Actively supports and complies with Peli’s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
- Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
