**The Role - Facilities Assistant**

Pinnacle Group are looking for a Facilities Assistant to assist the Site Caretaker in coordinating the day to day provision of delivering an effective and professional Facilities Management service to the school. The Facilities Assistant will also oversee the cleaning team, focusing on service delivery, providing supervision and guidance to staff.

This is a part time position where the suitable applicant will work from 1.30pm to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

**Duties/Key Responsibilities**
- Manage the security and safety of the building and its occupants
- To comply with the service level agreement and carry out site inspections, site PPMs and all statutpry checks
- To ensure appropriate PPE/uniform are always used during working hours
- To take instruction and advise from the Caretaker/Site Manager
- Monitor, record and deliver service levels in accordance with contractual requirements, liaising with the client as necessary
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations and company policy to ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff members, visitors, contractors and others
- Undertake emergency, reactive and daily repair duties as required
- Report any faults in any equipment or building through the helpdesk or to your line manager, or repair as appropriate in line with personal skills
- Supervise the site and deal with all occurrences in accordance with embedded procedures
- Maintain the security of the school premises by securing entrances and exits as appropriate and reporting required
- Demonstrate a clear and effective alignment with the Pinnacle Values and the commercial interests of Pinnacle
- The post holder may be expected to work in other Pinnacle Schools as required with adequate and reasonable notice
- The post will involve elements of manual handling
- To work with substances controlled under COSH regulations
- Provide support, guidance, training and full line management to all cleaning staff
- Work with the cleaning team and direct all cleaning staff in their duties, ensuring the cleaning schedule is adhered to and targets achieved to meet contractual requirements
- Ensuring the cleaning function is appropriately resourced by managing the rota effectively including arranging suitable cover for sickness and holiday
- Monitor staff attendance and maintain records to effectively manage absence
- Cleaning product stock control in liaison with the Caretaker/Site Manager
- Assist the winter gritting program as required
- Assisting the cover of the school during out of hours as required

**Skills Required**:
Essential
- Obligation to adhere to safe working practices and due consideration is given to the safety of colleagues, school children, other users of the school and the public
- Planning and organization skills
- Resilience under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as being able to use own initiative
- Experience/knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and the ability to train staff in this area
- To be able to demonstrate the behaviours required as outlined in the Living the Values section of the working for Pinnacle booklet

Desirable
- Good maintenance experience
- Experience of managing or supervising staff
- Cleaning NVQ or equivalent
