Merlin Timber Frame Limited are a family run timber frame building manufacturer based in North Herefordshire. We aim to build off site constructed timber frame buildings to the highest standards. We build timber frame solutions for a large variety of projects from individual new builds, extensions, construction sites comprising of up to 50 units, apartment blocks, educational facilities and modular units.

The business comprises a close-knit team and we are now looking for a friendly, hardworking individual with the right drive and attitude to fill our next vacancy.

Any applicant will be a confident individual who can communicate effectively and efficiently with suppliers, contractors, existing clients as well as new contacts.

We are RECRUITING**:Estimator (FULL TIME)**

The successful applicant must have knowledge and understanding of the modern construction methods used within Timber Frame Manufacturing and Timber Frame Construction.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

- Working from architectural and structural drawings and specifications in order to prepare and submit professional, accurate and competitive quotations that will generate business for the company.
- Attending and contributing to tender meetings.
- Procurement and negotiation of materials, sub/contractors, and equipment.
- To work in conjunction with architects, engineers, project managers and clients to ratify/qualify their requirements.
- Identify and quantify potential risk that may impact project costs.
- Track and document project costs and estimate revisions.
- To act as point of contact for clients in the primary stages of any quote/project..
- Working closely with the design and sales director, contracts manager and operations director.
- Assist with general office duties (where required).

Experience and Attributes:

- Experience within the construction industry, and in particular timber frame/off site construction/manufacturing sector, preferable, but not essential
- Excellent numerical, analytical and IT skills
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confidentiality
- Attention to detail is imperative
- To be flexible and proactive
- Comfortable pricing client briefs and detailed plans
- Recently qualified in a related qualification will be a plus
- Other relevant skills and experience including Estimator, Construction Estimator, Construction, Building, Quotations, Pricing, and Estimating are beneficial

Salary based on experience.

28 DAYS HOLIDAY per annum (including bank holidays).

Initial Trial Period: 3 Months
