**Your new company**
You will be working for an NHS Trust based in Horwich who deal with inbound calls from patients and users in need of care and support. The company prides itself on supporting their employees through regular training, progression plans and regular meetings toencourage your personal progression. They have many roles available and are looking to expand their team of eager and personable call handlers.
**Your new role**
As a Call Handler you will be responsible for communicating and assessing patients' wellbeing through an internal computer system which allows you to diagnose the patients' symptoms correctly.
General duties will include
- Liaising with other agencies and healthcare providers
- Using your acquired skills for the management of challenging calls and child and adult safeguarding
- Sharing and utilising knowledge and skills to enhance patient care
- Dealing with calls without clinical support using critical thinking and probing questions, supported by tools to transfer to the appropriate care provider
- Work without direct supervision, pursuing a workload managed through scheduled interventions
- Excellent communication skills in all aspects of the job; patients, colleagues, other departments, emergency services
- Work towards KPI's and targets
- Work with confidentiality and sensitivity with all patients and records
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in the role of Call Handler, you will need the below
- Must be fully flexible during the week as you will be working shift patterns with 2 days off in 7 days
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Experience in a Customer service/ facing environment
- Experience of dealing with enquiries over the phone
- Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills
- Have a tactful and mature approach when dealing with sensitive cases
- Keyboard/Data entry skills
- Computer literate
- Always portray a professional and non-judgemental attitude
**What you'll get in return**
