**The Role: Head Coach**

The Head Coach leads and motivates the Surf Coach Team by creating the right atmosphere; fostering a positive work environment; encouraging strong teamwork and running shifts, assigning tasks and providing training as and when required.

**Role Overview**
- Delivering the day to day Surf Lessons and Sessions experience at the Lost Shore Surf Resort (LSSR), Edinburgh.
- Working as the Team Leader of the Surf Coach Team.
- Accountable for delivering a world class visitor experience in Surf Operations and ensuring that everything is safe, hygienic and legally compliant.
- Reporting to the Surf Operations Manager (SOM), the role is a Supervisory role at the LSSR and involves working with and alongside the Head Lifeguard.

**Visitor Experience**: Support the Surf Operations Manager (SOM) to achieve our Visitor Numbers budget, ensure high-quality surf lessons, and exceed targets for repeat visitors by actively responding to feedback and fostering a positive, customer-centric team culture.

**Working as a Team**: Work with the SOM to recruit top Surf Coaches, drive team performance, exceed visitor expectations, and ensure adherence to policies while fostering clear communication and timely issue resolution across the Resort.

**Financial Aspirations**:Collaborate with the Surf Operations Manager (SOM) to develop and implement the Surf Operations budget, ensuring income targets and cost management are met, while guiding the Surf Coach Team to achieve daily operational excellence and adhere to financial policies, supporting overall Resort profitability and success.

**Ways of Working**:Ensure compliance with LSSR's Health and Safety policies, maintain accurate training records and Risk Assessments, foster a strong safety culture, support incident management, and uphold legal standards for Surf Lessons and Sessions.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- ISA 1 Qualification
- Thrive under pressure with high energy, determination, and an unyielding drive for excellence.
- Embrace a customer-centric approach, never settling for second best and always striving to exceed expectations.
- Possess exceptional people skills, inspiring and motivating others while leading by example.
- Exhibit excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrate a passion for surfing and a genuine commitment to helping others progress as surfers.
- An interest in the maintenance and technology of our equipment is a bonus. Experience in surfboard or wetsuit repairs is of course not a necessity, but it would be an advantage.
- Maintain peak fitness levels to confidently conduct training sessions and perform real-life rescues with ease.
- Successfully complete PVG check through Disclosure Scotland
