We have an opening for a **Senior Land Manager** to join Sovereign Housing Association, covering the South West region. This opportunity we will be based out of our **Bristol ** offices, and include a mix of on-site visits, home and office-based working.

**What you'll be doing**

We've set high standards for our new affordable home offering, **creating great places to live **whilst taking big steps towards our growth ambitions. Responsible for the acquisition of greenfield and brownfield land opportunities the **SeniorLand Manager** will be obtaining planning consents where required, within the region aligned to development gateways.

This role will be responsible for implementing the land acquisition strategies for their teams, roadmaps, performance and progress to date and develop opportunities and manage risks in operating region. Whilst Supporting the Director of New Business to developand promote future plans as a feed into investment strategy.

**The role will also include**:

- Generating and securing new land opportunities in line with ambitions of Investment Strategy
- Create strong network of contacts across: Land Owners, Land agents, Promoters, Surveying firms, Local Authorities, Solicitors
- Maintaining a strong working knowledge of emerging land releases and planning policies across area of operation
- Interpreting agreed land sourcing strategy into a focussed search criteria in agreed locations.
- Developing a sustainable land bank in New Homes control that meets the business plan and Sovereign development strategy targets.
- Controlling the land purchase process, working alongside the legal, development, finance, commercial, planning and technical team to ensure that the appropriate level of due diligence is undertaken prior to seeking approval for land purchase
- Recommend land acquisition contracts for approval having regard to standard agreed contract terms and risk

**What we need from you**
- A track record of taking major projects from identification to hand over to delivery; creating teams to evolve the project and teams to manage the project once established.
- A demonstrable record of partnership working, influencing and persuading.
- Experience of using learning from a range of roles within the housing or related sector.
- A track record of delivering mixed use, developments.
- An understanding wider commercial markets.
- A comprehensive understanding of commercial practices relevant to delivering new development

There will be a requirement to travel from time to time in this role so you should have a full UK licence and access to your own transport.
