Trainee GP Assistant Starting salary £22,816 per annum. Progressing to £25000 per annum on successfully completing the training by the end of 12 months. Job Summary A GP Assistant will support the smooth running of the practice by performing the more routine administration and clinical tasks on behalf of the GP freeing up their time to focus on the patient. This is a new role being introduced to our surgery and will evolve over time.

**The practice runs across 2 sites**: Beaconsfield Primary Care Centre and West Bank Medical Centre. Duties Clinical Duties Patient health checks in the practice, the patients home or care home, to include phlebotomy, height, weight and blood pressure readings, ECG's, urine sampling and to record all information within the clinical record in line with the practice procedure Diabetic Foot Checks Identify abnormal findings as per the practice protocol and discuss with the appropriate clinician Stock checking of clinic rooms Administrative Duties Assist with reception duties - answering incoming calls to the practice and care navigating patients appropriately Register and deduct patients Assist with admin and secretarial duties - dealing with incoming post using the Docman system, typing letters using Lexacom and processing referrals. Summarising records To be involved in the patient recall system using software such as AccuRx, PATCHS and MJOG Training will be provided in house The trainee would be encouraged to take part in the GPA Skills certificate by Health Education England. This is an accredited training programme based on a competency framework.
