**WORKING HOURS** - 37 hours spread over 4.5 days (Monday to Friday - Lunchtime finish each Friday)

**OVERVIEW**
Very well established and incredibly successful Global Engineering Manufacturer are delighted to announce the expansion of their Purchasing Team, with the addition of TWO Buyers

**Job Summary**:
The role of the Buyers will be primarily responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of products to our global customer base and the import of materials from various global suppliers. You will utilise strong communication skills both internally, working cross-functionally with other teams and externally as you liaise with our suppliers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Daily placing of a high volume of orders, confirming receipt, delivery dates, chasing suppliers, updating of order confirmation records.
- Facilitating resolution of quality product type’s discrepancies and find substitute suppliers if the product is not available in a timely manner.
- Working with the Goods-In team, who ensure that items are booked-in in a timely manner and will check for any damages, discrepancies and report back to the Buyer who will then seek to resolve any such discrepancies with our suppliers.
- Analyse historical demand patterns and use analysis to create appropriate inventory and forecast parameters with SAP to maximise material availability within inventory guidelines.
- Coordinating with manufacturers, suppliers, negotiating on process, and ensuring optimal deals on various ranges and items and source alternatives as maybe required.
- Supporting the Purchasing Manager with ongoing purchasing strategy development and delivery.
- Maintain inventory of purchase supplies, maintain and create records/ reports for same and other Purchasing data to control the purchasing process. E.g. relating to price, lead time, order quantities, order confirmation, supplier details, cost and price data base and delivery dates.
- Produce monthly Sales and Operations Planning reports for distribution
- Run quarterly review meetings with allocated suppliers and manage actions and issues arising.
- To undertake any other duties and projects that are in line with the purpose of the role as may be required from time to time.
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and with a high level of transactional activity.
- Self-motivated with a drive for self-learning, able to operate well with limited oversight.

Skills and Experience:

- CIPS Qualification advantageous
- 2 - 3yrs + experience of working in a manufacturing purchasing or supply chain role
- Comprehensive understanding of SAP, MS Excel, MS Word exposure to industry procurement platforms an advantage.
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organisation and externally with vendors
- Good team working skills, with experience of working with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent Problem-Solving skills - must have a can do attitude

**START DATE** - Seeking to have 2 Buyers in place for February or March (latest).
SEEKING TO INTERVIEW ASAP in February with an immediate start date available (or allowing for up to one months notice period).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
