**Job Purpose**:

- Work within a team delivering Aviation sector projects and programmes from £1m £50m,, ensuring standards of delivery meet defined objectives
- Responsible for delivering the defined scope of work in line with various controls, and will have significant technical knowledge and experience in their field

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Work independently within established financial systems to monitor and review project costs and variances, in order to control cost variables
- Deliver/assist to manage projects or significant components of cost management assignments, ensuring the delivery of the required scope of work within set deadlines
- Understand and comply with business risk and present any project concerns or issues to senior managers to ensure the project is not adversely impacted
- Provide advice to colleagues on principles of risk management, to ensure adherence to the organisation’s risk and compliance processes
- Analyse and review a range of data to collate trends and prepare documentation such as delivery plans, providing advice and making recommendations to support cost and commercial management decision-making
- Use own knowledge and experience to share knowledge and taking an active involvement in service improvement and innovation
- Provide specialist technical advice and guidance within area, supporting others with cost management queries and actively sharing knowledge in order to inform colleagues and provide a high level of service to clients
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of their needs in order to resolve stakeholder issues and provide quality client care, contributing to ongoing client satisfaction

**Dimensions of the job**:

- Possess the skills, experience and enthusism to actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on projects typically ranging between £1m and £50m.
- Developing and maintaining project cost plans and cost estimates to support the governance processes and procedures.
- Managing project budgets and reporting against benchmarks where appropriate.
- Concluding monthly cost reporting, reporting on monthly change in the period.
- Supporting tendering and evaluation process, understanding the different types of procurement strategies to be undertaken.
- Supporting the management of the administration of contracts of varying values and complexity, driving compliance and contractual performance with knowledge of NEC suite of contracts

**Knowledge & Experience**:

- Provide experience in delivering quantity surveying within the infrustructure sector
- NEC contract knowledge
- In-depth technical knowledge of specialised field, including construction processes and cost and commercial management
- Demonstration of self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties
- Capable of supporting a project through from inception to completion

**Key Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Attainment of OR near attainment of relevant professional certification or chartered status
- CSCS card holder
