**Laboratory Assistant (Processing) - Truro**

**The Opportunity**

Typical responsibilities include:

- Preparing samples for testing,
- Following written procedures,
- Undertaking basic standardised tests unaided,
- Providing assistance to the Metallurgical staff,
- General laboratory duties,
- Maintaining, calibrating and cleaning equipment as appropriate,
- Working in a safe manner, abiding by company SSOW and COSHH regulations at all times.

The Laboratory operates on a rotating shift basis - Shifts are 06:30 - 14:30 and 11:30 - 19:30. The position is full time onsite.
- Good team working and communication skills,
- Practical approach to problem solving,
- Ability to manage time to maximise productivity,
- Safe and responsible working manner in laboratory areas,
- Ability to work unsupervised,
- Attention to detail and accuracy of recording information,
- Awareness of commercial importance of products and ability to plan and prioritise work accordingly.
- Qualified to a minimum of GCSE standard in English and Maths.
- Experience of similar work is an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
